Neve Who? Campbell What? Let's Talk Scream's Aging Enigma!
Alright, gather 'round, kiddos. Let's dive into the time-traveling mystery that is Neve Campbell's age in the first Scream. You might want to buckle up, 'cause we're about to get as twisted as Ghostface's sense of humor.
Now, I know what you're thinking, "But when was the first Scream even released?" Well, grab your walkie-talkies, 'cause we're going back to '96, baby! That's right, the year of the Macarena, the Spice Girls, and, oh yeah, a little film that would change horror forever.
So, How Old Was Neve, Already?
Alright, let's get down to business. Neve Campbell, our beloved Sidney Prescott, was born on October 22, 1973. So, when Scream hit the screens in December '96, Neve was a fresh-faced 23-year-old. But here's where things get interesting (or should I say, screaming interesting?).
Must Read
In the movie, Sidney is supposed to be a high school senior. Now, I don't know about you, but when I was 17, I couldn't pull off looking 23 if my life depended on it. Neve, on the other hand, managed to look like a teenager while playing a teenager who's being stalked by a killer. Talk about method acting!

But wait, there's more! You know how in Scream 2, Sidney's off to college? Well, that film was released in '97, making Neve a mere 24 years old. I mean, I was still trying to figure out algebra at that age, and here she is, playing a college student. Some people just can't catch a break, am I right?
Neve's Ageless Wonder
Now, let's fast-forward to the present. Neve's been blessing our screens with her presence since the '80s, and she's still going strong. She's 48 now (yes, I had to do the math too), and she's back for the latest Scream installment. I mean, if that's not a testament to her ageless wonder, I don't know what is.

So, the next time you're watching Scream, remember that Neve was actually playing a teenager who was being terrorized by a killer who was probably older than her. Talk about a plot twist!
And there you have it, folks. Neve Campbell was 23 when she played 17 in the first Scream. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some serious aging to catch up on. Until next time, stay scared, and remember: don't answer the phone!
