Let's Set the Stage

Alright, so Descendants 2 hit our screens in 2017. It was a summer filled with sun, fun, and, of course, more drama from the kids of our favorite Disney villains. China Anne was back as Uma, Mal's cousin and the new villain in town. But how old was she when we were all watching her rock those purple streaks?

Now, I know what you're thinking. "But wait, didn't she look older in the first movie?" Well, yes, yes she did. But that's the magic of makeup and acting, my friend. She was actually just a baby in comparison.

Drumroll, Please

Alright, enough suspense. In 2017, when Descendants 2 was released, China Anne McClain was a mere 18 years old. I know, I know, it's crazy to think that someone so talented and seemingly grown-up was still a teenager, right?

But wait, there's more! She was born on August 25, 1998, which makes her a Virgo. I don't know about you, but I find birthdays fascinating. It's like a little peek into someone's personality, don't you think?

Growing Up on Screen

Now, you might be wondering why she looked older in the first movie. Well, Descendants was released in 2015, when China Anne was just 17. But she was playing a character who was supposed to be in her late teens, so a little bit of makeup and acting magic made her look a tad older.

And let's not forget, she had already been acting since she was a kid. Her first role was in 2005, when she was just 7 years old! So, by the time Descendants came around, she was already a seasoned pro.

More Than Just Uma

But China Anne isn't just Uma, you know. She's had a whole bunch of roles before and after Descendants. She was Jazmine in Tyler Perry's House of Payne, Laura in Black Lightning, and even sang the theme song for Jake and the Never Land Pirates. Talk about a multi-talented gal!

And guess what? She's also a singer in real life. I mean, can this girl do anything? She's part of a girl group called McClain, with her sisters Lauryn and Sierra. They've even opened for artists like Justin Bieber and The Backstreet Boys. How cool is that?
