For those who've been living under a rock (or in the Upside Down), Billy Hargrove is the older brother of Max Mayfield, introduced in Season 2. He's played by the talented Dacre Montgomery, an Australian actor who was just 22 when he first stepped into Billy's leather jacket.

Why does Billy's age matter?
Well, it's not just about satisfying our curiosity. Billy's age plays a significant role in the dynamics of the show. He's supposed to be a teenager, but his actions often feel more like those of an adult. This tension makes his character intriguing, don't you think?
Plus, it's always fun to compare actors' ages to their characters'. It's like when you realize that the kid from Home Alone is now taller than you. Mind. Blown.

Alright, alright, how old is he?
In the show's timeline, Billy is supposed to be around 17 or 18 when we first meet him in Season 2. But remember, the show is set in the '80s, and the actors are not. So, while Billy might be a teenager in the show, Dacre was already in his early 20s when he started playing him.
Here's a fun fact: Dacre was born on November 22, 1994. So, when Season 2 aired in 2017, he was a fresh 22. Now, let's do some math. If Billy is around 17 in Season 2, and Dacre was 22 at the time, that means Billy is five years younger than Dacre in real life. Mind. Blown. Again.

But wait, what about Season 3 and 4?
In Season 3, Billy's still around 17 or 18, but Dacre's now 23 or 24. The age gap between them is growing, but hey, it's not like we're counting. And by Season 4, Dacre's in his mid-20s, while Billy's still a teen. It's like watching a real-life time machine!
So, there you have it. Billy Hargrove is a teenager in the show, but Dacre Montgomery is all grown up in real life. Isn't that just the strangest thing? Now, who's ready for another binge-watch session?
