So, you're curious about how old Alan Ritchson was when he was playing the iconic role of Thad Castle in Blue Mountain State, huh? Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to dive into a fun little journey through time.
First things first, let's set the scene. Blue Mountain State premiered on Spike TV (now Paramount Network) in 2010. The show was a wild ride, following the hilarious misadventures of a college football team and their equally chaotic coach, Thad Castle, played by our man Alan.
Now, let's rewind the clock to 2010. Alan Ritchson was born on January 28, 1984, which makes him a Capricorn (you're welcome for that fun fact, horoscope lovers). So, when Blue Mountain State first hit our screens, Alan was a fresh-faced 26-year-old.

But here's the kicker - his character, Thad Castle, was supposed to be in his 40s! Can you believe it? This guy was playing a coach old enough to be his own dad. Talk about a mature performance, right? Or maybe they just needed someone tall and imposing to play a football coach. Either way, Alan nailed it.
Now, let's fast forward a bit. The show ran for three seasons, wrapping up in 2012. By then, Alan was a sprightly 28-year-old. So, for the entire duration of the show, he was playing a character about 15 years his senior. Pretty impressive, huh?

And guess what? In real life, Alan is now in his late 30s. So, if we were to bring back Thad Castle today, Alan would finally be the right age for the role! Isn't that something? It's like life imitating art, or something deep like that.
