Hey there, curious minds! Ever wondered about the age of that mischievous little imp, Rumplestiltskin, from Once Upon a Time? Let's dive into the magical world of Storybrooke and find out, shall we?
Time's a Ticking... Sort of
Now, you might be thinking, "How can we determine the age of a character who's, well, fictional?" Well, buckle up, because we're about to get into some serious fairy tale math!
In the enchanting world of Once Upon a Time, time doesn't quite work the way it does in our world. You see, when the Evil Queen cast her Dark Curse, it froze time for everyone in the Enchanted Forest. So, when our favorite characters were transported to Storybrooke, they were essentially frozen in time too.
Must Read
Meet Mr. Gold
When we first meet Rumplestiltskin, or rather, his human alter ego, Mr. Gold, he's already an old man. But here's where it gets interesting: when he regains his memories and becomes the Dark One, he reverts to his younger, impish self. So, we're dealing with a character who's both ancient and eternally youthful. Mind. Blown.
But how old is he, really? Let's do some sleuthing!
Back to the Enchanted Forest
We know that Rumplestiltskin was once a simple miller's son who made a deal with the Dark One to gain power. This happened long before the Dark Curse, so we're talking ancient history here. But how long before? That's where things get a bit tricky.
We know that the Dark Curse was cast in the late 19th century, and our favorite fairy tale characters were transported to Storybrooke in the 21st century. So, we're looking at a time span of over a hundred years. But remember, time was frozen for our characters, so they didn't actually age during that time.

Doing the Math
Now, let's assume that Rumplestiltskin made his deal with the Dark One around the same time as the other fairy tale characters were living their stories. That would make him... well, pretty old. Like, really old. We're talking centuries here, folks!
But here's the thing: when Rumplestiltskin became the Dark One, he stopped aging. So, while he's ancient in terms of his experience, his physical age is... well, that's where it gets interesting.
An Eternal Youth
When we see Rumplestiltskin in his imp form, he looks like a young boy. But remember, he's been around for centuries. So, while he might look like a kid, he's got the wisdom and experience of someone who's lived through countless fairy tales.
Isn't that just the coolest? It's like having a magical, eternal fountain of youth right in your TV screen!
Why This Matters (More Than You Think)
So, why should you care about Rumplestiltskin's age? Well, aside from the fact that it's just plain fascinating, it also teaches us a thing or two about life. You see, age is just a number. It's our experiences, our wisdom, and our growth that truly define us.

Think about it: Rumplestiltskin might look like a kid, but he's been through more than most of us can imagine. He's made mistakes, he's learned from them, and he's grown. And that's what really matters.
So, the next time you find yourself feeling down about getting older, remember Rumplestiltskin. He's been around for centuries, but he's still learning, still growing, still becoming. And that's something to celebrate!
