First Things First: The Movies
Kevin's age varies between the first two Home Alone movies, which were released in 1990 and 1992. But don't worry, we'll sort through the timeline together!
In Home Alone, Kevin is left behind when his family jets off to Paris for Christmas. He's got a big imagination, a bigger house, and a whole lot of time on his hands. The movie's set in 1990, and Kevin's supposed to be 8 years old. But here's the kicker - he was actually played by Macaulay Culkin, who was 10 at the time!

Now, let's fast-forward to Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. This time around, Kevin's accidentally sent to New York City instead of Miami. The movie's set in 1992, and Kevin's supposed to be 9. But guess who's back? Yep, 11-year-old Macaulay Culkin!
Age Gap? What Age Gap?
So, what's with the age gap? Well, it's Hollywood, folks! They wanted Macaulay for the role, and he was just too darn charming to pass up. Plus, who's going to argue with a kid who can outsmart two bumbling burglars?

But here's where it gets interesting. In the Home Alone universe, time seems to move a little differently. Kevin ages a whole year between the two movies, even though only a year has passed in real life. Talk about a fast-growing kid!
What About the Sequels?
Alright, let's talk about the other Home Alone movies. But fair warning, things get a bit... stranger.
In Home Alone 3, we meet a new kid named Alex. He's got a similar predicament to Kevin - left home alone, has to outsmart some bad guys. But here's the thing: Alex is 9, and the movie's set in 1997. So, if we're going by the original timeline, Kevin would be around 17 by now. But where's he?
Kevin Mccallister In Home Alone
Well, he's off in Home Alone: Taking Back the House, a made-for-TV movie from 2006. Kevin's all grown up, played by French Stewart now. He's 37 in the movie, but remember, this is a different timeline. In the real world, Macaulay would be 26. Confused yet? Welcome to the Home Alone universe!
So, How Old Is Kevin?
In conclusion, Kevin McCallister is... well, he's whatever age you need him to be. He's 8 in our hearts, 10 in the first movie, 9 in the second, and who knows where he goes from there. But hey, that's part of the fun!
So, next time you're watching Home Alone, don't worry about the ages. Just enjoy the cheese pizza, the Christmas lights, and Kevin's brilliant schemes. After all, isn't that what makes the holiday season a little brighter?
