How Old Is Jake Supposed To Be In Freaky Friday

So, you've seen Freaky Friday, right? The one where a mom and daughter swap bodies, and hilarity ensues? You know, the classic Disney flick that's as timeless as it is freaky. But have you ever wondered, just how old is Jake, the dreamy guitar-playing heartthrob, supposed to be?

Let's dive in, shall we?

First things first, Freaky Friday was released in 2003. That's right, we're talking early 2000s, folks. The era of low-rise jeans, frosty tips, and boy bands. But back to Jake. He's played by Ryan Sheckler, a professional skateboarder who was, wait for it, 13 when the movie was made.

Thirteen! Can you even? I mean, he looks older, right? That's the magic of Hollywood, folks. They can make a teenager look like they're ready for prom. But I digress.

So, how old is Jake supposed to be?

Well, here's where it gets a bit tricky. The movie doesn't give us a specific age for Jake. But we do know he's in high school and has a driver's license. In the U.S., you can get your license at 16 or 17, depending on the state. So, he's probably around there, give or take a year.

But here's the kicker. In the original Freaky Friday book by Mary Rodgers, Jake is 17. So, the movie kinda, sorta, sticks to that. But it also doesn't. Isn't that just freaky?

Why does it even matter?

You might be thinking, "Who cares how old Jake is? He's just a character in a movie." And you're right. But hear me out. Jake's age is a fun little detail that adds to the movie's charm. It's a bit of trivia that makes watching Freaky Friday even more enjoyable.

Plus, it's a reminder of how much we've all grown since 2003. I mean, if Jake was 17 back then, he'd be, like, 33 now. That's practically ancient in Hollywood years. It's enough to make you feel all nostalgic and stuff.

But what about the remake?

You might be wondering, "What about the 2018 Freaky Friday remake? How old is Jake in that one?" Well, my friend, that's a whole other can of worms. In the remake, Jake is played by Cooper Landry, who was 18 when the movie was made. But the character's age? Still not specified. Isn't that just the darndest thing?

So there you have it. Jake from Freaky Friday is probably around 16 or 17. But who knows? Maybe he's an immortal teen, stuck in a time warp, forever playing his guitar and making our hearts flutter. Wouldn't that be something?

Until next time, folks. Keep your Freaky Friday trivia fresh, and your curiosity piqued. And remember, no matter how old Jake is, he'll always be our favorite body-swapping heartthrob.
