Hey there, Stranger Things fans! Ever found yourself binge-watching the Upside Down and wondered, "Just how old is Billy Hargrove, anyway?" Well, buckle up, 'cause we're about to dive into the Demogorgon's den of knowledge to find out!
So, who's Billy Hargrove?
If you've been living under a rock (or maybe just avoiding the Mind Flayer), Billy Hargrove is the older brother of Max Mayfield, who joined the Stranger Things crew in season two. He's played by the talented Dacre Montgomery, who's got quite the following himself.
Now, let's get down to business.
Billy's age is a bit of a mystery, even to some die-hard fans. Why? Well, the show's creators, the Duffer Brothers, like to keep us on our toes. They've been a bit, shall we say, vague about the characters' ages. But don't worry, we're not going to leave you hanging!
Must Read
After some sleuthing (and a little help from our friends at IMDb), we've discovered that Dacre Montgomery, the actor who plays Billy, was born on November 22, 1994. Now, let's do some math!
Time for a little time travel.
Stranger Things is set in the 1980s, with the first season taking place in 1983. The second season, where we first meet Billy, is set in 1984. So, if Billy was around the same age as Dacre when he was playing him, that would make Billy around 17 or 18 in season two.

But wait, there's more! Season three takes place in the summer of 1985. If Billy aged at the same rate as Dacre, he'd be around 19 or 20 by then. And season four? Well, that's set in the spring of 1986, which would make Billy around 20 or 21.
So, why does it matter?
Well, aside from satisfying our curiosity, knowing Billy's age can give us a bit more insight into his character. It helps us understand why he acts the way he does, and how his past experiences have shaped him. Plus, it's just plain fun to geek out about, right?

Now, you might be thinking, "But wait, what about the age gap between Billy and Max? Shouldn't they be closer in age?" And you're right! In real life, Dacre Montgomery is only a few years older than Sadie Sink, who plays Max. But in the world of Stranger Things, Billy is quite a bit older than his little sister. It's all about the narrative, folks!
But wait, there's more!
You might be wondering, "What about the other characters? How old are they?" Well, that's a whole other can of worms. But let's just say that the Duffer Brothers like to keep us guessing. And hey, it's all part of the fun, right?
So, there you have it, folks! Billy Hargrove is likely around 17-21 years old throughout the series. Not too shabby for a guy who's been through the wringer, huh? Now, go forth and impress your friends with your newfound knowledge. And remember, the Upside Down is always watching. Stay curious!
