So, there I was, scrolling through the TV guide the other day, and what do my eyes land on? None other than the Jim Bakker Show. You remember Jim, right? The PTL Club, the Heritage USA theme park, the whole shebang. Now, he's back, peddling survival food and doomsday prepping tips. But that's not what we're here to talk about today. I got curious, you see, about what his kids are up to these days. So, grab a cup of coffee, and let's dive in.
Jay Bakker: The Pastor
First up, we have Jay Bakker, Jim's son from his first marriage. Now, this is where it gets interesting. Jay, he's a pastor now, can you believe it? I mean, his dad was all about the prosperity gospel, and now Jay, he's preaching a message of social justice and grace. Talk about a 180!
Jay's church, Brooklyn Tabernacle, it's not your typical megachurch. It's more like a community center, serving the poor and marginalized. I mean, I'm not one to judge, but it's a far cry from Heritage USA, right? Jay, he's even written a book, Faith and Fear, all about his journey from PTL to this. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my list. Maybe I'll pick it up next time I'm at the bookstore. What do you think?

Next up, we have Tammy Sue, Jim's daughter with his second wife, Tammy Faye. Now, Tammy Sue, she's taken a different path. She's a businesswoman, running a company that makes, get this, coconut oil. I mean, who would've thought, right?
Tammy Sue, she's kept a pretty low profile over the years. I can't blame her, with all the scrutiny her parents were under. But she's out there now, running her business, living her life. I respect that. I mean, we all need our coconut oil, right? Maybe I'll pick some up next time I'm at the store. What's your preferred brand?

And the Adopted Children
Now, Jim and Tammy Faye also adopted a few children. Not much is known about them, though. They've kept a pretty low profile, which, given their parents' history, I can't say I blame them for.
One of them, Erin, she's popped up now and then on social media. She's a mom now, living what looks like a quiet life. I mean, who can blame her for wanting to stay out of the spotlight? I'm sure she's had her fair share of it growing up.

So, What's the Moral of the Story?
Well, I guess it's that life's full of twists and turns, isn't it? Jim Bakker, he was this big TV personality, and now his kids, they're all doing their own thing. Some of it's pretty different from what you'd expect, right?
I guess it just goes to show that we're all more than our parents' legacies. We make our own paths, forge our own futures. And that's a pretty cool thing, don't you think?
